Hundreds of decisions you can feel.

The best bike is not the stiffest

Stiffness measures one axis and calls it everything. What matters is dynamic response: frame doing different things in different directions, independently, at the same time. That is the problem we solve.

Every layup is designed around a specific rider. Weight. Power. Style. Geometry tells your body where to be. Layup tells the frame how to respond when you’re there.

I'm not sure what kind of deal with the devil Argonaut founder Ben Farver made to produce the otherworldly ride quality of the GR3 carbon fiber gravel bike, but I sure hope he's got a comfy chair waiting for him down there.

Ride quality starts in the layup.

Carbon fiber can be tuned in ways no metal can. Torsionally stiff. Vertically compliant. Horizontally rigid. All at once, in the same frame. But only if you know how to build it. And we do.

Repeatability is everything.

Our patented High Pressure Silicone Molding (HPSM) process uses precision-machined silicone mandrels instead of inflatable bladders. Cleaner Fiber. The finished part matches the design intention. Every time.

Every transition is a reason.

An Argonaut is built from multiple precisely formed sections, each serving a specific structural purpose. More stiffness where power is applied. More compliance when you’re fatigued. More control when the terrain changes.

Our build, our word.

We never outsource. We know the name of every person who touches our frames.

Outsourcing would mean being responsible for the outcome but not the process. For the bike but not the build. That is not a trade we can make.

I spent years making things beautiful. Racing taught me that beautiful things that break are worthless.

The Ornate Problem

Ben Farver, Founder of Argonaut Cycles

The industry has been racing toward aerodynamics and stiffness for a decade. Neither one is the most important thing about a bicycle.

The Wrong Problem

Ben Farver, Founder of Argonaut Cycles

Carbon is an essence distinct from steel, capable of doing things no metal can. But only if you know how to build it.

The Carbon Argument

Ben Farver, Founder of Argonaut Cycles

Most carbon bikes are built the same way they were built 20 years ago. The aerospace and F1 industries moved on. We followed them.

The Silicone Standard

Every great ride has three distinct moments. We design separately, specifically, and deliberately for each of them.

We don't outsource manufacturing because I'm personally responsible for whether someone gets hurt. More than a brand promise, this is a promise I made to myself.
