From Dream to Drop Bar

Stories

In the quiet moments between rides, there’s often a pull—toward open roads, longer days, and the simple clarity that comes from movement.

At Argonaut Cycles, that pull is familiar. It’s what drives the work. Every RM3 begins there—not as a concept, but as a response to how someone rides and what they’re looking for in it.

The RM3 isn’t built to a template. It’s shaped through process—geometry, layup, and design decisions that reflect the rider behind it. The goal is straightforward: create a bike that feels natural from the first ride and continues to hold up as the miles add up.

Building one isn’t transactional. It’s collaborative.

From fit and component selection to finish and detail work, each step is part of a larger conversation. What kind of riding matters most. Where the bike will be used. What it should feel like when it’s working properly.

One recent build started with a clear direction: a black-and-pink palette that felt grounded but distinct. Working with Matt, our head painter, the rider developed a finish that balanced depth and restraint—something that held its own without overwhelming the frame.

The result wasn’t about standing out for its own sake. It was about getting it right.

That’s the throughline across every RM3. Not excess. Not decoration. Just alignment between rider, machine, and intent.

And once the bike is complete, the relationship shifts.

What starts as a build becomes something more familiar over time. The fit settles in. The handling becomes predictable. The bike stops being something you think about and becomes something you rely on.

That’s where it matters.

If you’re considering a custom build, the starting point is simple: a conversation about how you ride and what you want to feel from it.

Everything else follows from there.
