Portland Rain to Bend Sun

Stories

This weekend at the MADE Bike Show, we’re bringing something special to the Campagnolo booth: a one-off Argonaut RM3 that captures our past, our present, and the craft we continue to refine.

MADE is more than a show. It’s a reflection of why we build the way we do. It brings together small builders, designers, and riders who see the bicycle as more than a machine. It’s a place where performance and craft share the same space.

For us, it’s the right stage to show not only what we build today, but how we got here.

Portland Roots

Argonaut began in Portland, shaped by a culture of steel frames and year-round riding. The tools were simple. The focus was clear. Build the best possible bike, one rider at a time.

Those early years set the foundation. They reinforced that materials matter, but intent matters more. Every detail, every decision, every adjustment exists to serve the rider.

Moving to Bend gave us space to evolve. New light. New conditions. A different environment to push the work forward. Steel gave way to carbon. Torches gave way to layup tables.

But the core hasn’t changed. We’re still a small team building bikes with the same level of care and attention. MADE feels familiar because it values that approach.

Pearl and Carbon

The RM3 we’re showing at MADE reflects that evolution.

It’s built with Campagnolo Super Record Wireless and limited-edition Bora Ultra wheels. Every component is selected for performance and cohesion, not decoration.

The finish carries the same thinking.

A pearl white base with subtle gold flake creates depth under light. It shifts as you move around it. The exposed carbon lines aren’t aesthetic additions. They reveal structure. They show how the frame is built, not just how it looks.

From one angle, the bike reads clean and minimal. From another, the underlying structure becomes visible. That contrast is intentional.

It’s a bike that holds both sides at once—refined and direct.

A Final Word

From Portland to Bend, the path has been consistent. Refine the process. Push the material. Stay focused on the rider.

This RM3 is a point along that path. It reflects where we are and where we’re going.

If you’re at MADE, come see it in person.
