What It Feels Like to Ride the World’s Best Road Bike
Stories

At Argonaut, we spend every day chasing perfection. We’re the only custom carbon bike manufacturer in the U.S. building bikes the way we do—with our own tooling, our own engineering, and a deeply controlled approach to ride quality.
Every ply of carbon fiber is placed with intention. Every junction is refined. Every measurement is checked and rechecked by hand. Not to be different, but because it’s the only way to deliver the kind of riding experience we believe in.
If you're here, you likely understand the engineering.
What matters is the ride.
Because it’s not just about what goes into the bike. It’s about what comes out of it.
Meet the Rider
This week, we’re turning the focus away from ourselves and toward one of our owners—a rider who recently took delivery of his custom-built RM3 in the Bay Area.
Rather than summarize, we’ll let him speak for himself:
“The sheer joy I experienced yesterday is indescribable. The geometry was exactly right—I was nervous about the shorter top tube, but it ended up being what I needed. I could get into an aero position comfortably for extended periods, which I’ve never been able to do before.
On climbs, I felt confident out of the saddle in a way I haven’t experienced. On longer, steady gradients, I noticed I could engage my glutes more effectively instead of relying entirely on my quads. The power came through differently—more complete.
I ended up setting more than ten PRs, even on longer climbs.
The bike came in under 17.5 pounds, which I wasn’t expecting. I assumed it would land closer to 20 based on previous builds I’ve ridden.
Acceleration felt immediate. No brake rub, even under load. That stood out.
And the finish—better than I expected. I keep thinking of it as an ocean-themed build.
It feels like a climbing bike, a race bike, and an endurance bike all in one. It covers everything I want from a road bike.”
Seeing the Ride in Motion
Performance isn’t limited to one region or one set of roads.
This winter, David Arthur of Just Ride Bikes rode an RM3 through the roads around Calpe, Spain—long climbs, fast descents, and terrain that rewards precision and consistency.
His perspective is measured and grounded in experience, shaped by years of testing high-performance bikes across different conditions.

Ready to Ride
You’ve read what it feels like. You’ve seen how it performs.
The question is simple: continue adapting to the bike you have, or ride something built to meet you where you are.
If you’re ready, we’re here to start the process.
